The copyHtml5
button type operates by
immediately copying the content's of the DataTable to the user's clipboard via the execCommand
method. For older browsers that don't support this
ability, the table's data is copied to a hidden text area and the user is invited to use their system clipboard to copy the data (i.e. ctrl/cmd + c).
The messages shown to the end user can be customised using the language
configuration option of DataTables. The following options are available:
language.buttons.copyTitle
- the title text of the info boxlanguage.buttons.copySuccess
- message to display when the copy is completelanguage.buttons.copyKey
- instructions on how to copy to clipboard for older browsers. This example uses these parameters to set French language strings for the copy message (with apologies to our native language French speaking friends! This is Google translated text - if you have an better translation, please let me know!).

The following CSS library files are loaded for use in this example to provide the styling of the table:
This table loads data by Ajax. The latest data that has been loaded is shown below. This data will update automatically as any additional data is loaded.
The script used to perform the server-side processing for this table is shown below. Please note that this is just an example script using PHP. Server-side processing scripts can be written in any language, using the protocol described in the DataTables documentation.
